Day 1: Rabat → Meknes → Fes
Your journey begins as our friendly driver picks you up from your hotel in Rabat to kick off this unforgettable 4-Day Desert Tour from Rabat to Marrakech adventure. The first destination is Meknes, one of Morocco’s four imperial cities. Nestled at the foot of the Middle Atlas Mountains, Meknes boasts grand historical architecture and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996.
Next, we continue to Fes, a city rich in history and spiritual heritage. Known as the country’s oldest imperial city, Fes is home to one of the largest intact medieval medinas in the world. It’s also considered Morocco’s cultural and religious capital.
In Fes, you’ll discover a lively, labyrinthine old town filled with traditional artisans—potters, weavers, and metalworkers—still practicing their ancient trades. Wander through narrow alleyways lined with vibrant souks selling spices, handmade carpets, leather goods, and more. Key highlights include a visit to the Royal Palace, the world-famous tanneries, and the pottery district.
You’ll spend the night in a charming riad located in the heart of the old medina, with breakfast included.
Day 2: Fes → Ifrane → Midelt → Ziz Valley → Erfoud – Merzouga (Camel Ride & Desert Camp)
After breakfast, your day begins around 8 AM with a scenic drive south. The first stop is Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” thanks to its alpine-style architecture and clean mountain air. Then, we visit the cedar forests of Azrou, home to wild Barbary macaques—an excellent opportunity to connect with nature.
As we journey through the Middle Atlas Mountains, we pause in the town of Midelt for lunch. Then we continue through the dramatic Ziz Valley, famous for its lush date palms and picturesque gorges, until we reach the desert gateway town of Erfoud, renowned for its fossils.
By late afternoon, we arrive in Merzouga, where your next adventure begins: a camel trek into the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. As the sun sets, you’ll ride to your Berber camp, where you’ll enjoy dinner under the stars, traditional music around the fire, and a magical night in the heart of the Sahara.
Day 3 : Merzouga → Tinghir → Todra Gorges → Dades Valley
Rise early to witness a spectacular sunrise over the Sahara. After breakfast and a shower at the camp, return by camel or 4×4 to Merzouga.
Then head west toward Tinghir, a picturesque Berber village known for its lush palm groves and scenic contrast between greenery and traditional mud-brick houses. Our next stop is the dramatic Todra Gorges, where towering cliffs soar over 200 meters high—perfect for a short hike and memorable photos.
We continue through the Dades Valley, part of the famed Route of a Thousand Kasbahs, where colorful rock formations and traditional ksours line the landscape. Dinner and overnight in a cozy kasbah or riad.
Day 4: Dades Valley → Ouarzazate → Ait Ben Haddou → Atlas Mountains → Marrakech
After breakfast, we journey through the Valley of Roses toward Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Africa.” Visit the majestic Taourirt Kasbah, once home to the powerful Glaoui family.
Next, explore the world-renowned Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and setting for films like Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and Game of Thrones. Wander its ancient clay alleyways and take in its commanding views.
Cross the mighty High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N’Tichka Pass (2,260 m), where every turn reveals stunning vistas. By late afternoon, we arrive in vibrant Marrakech, where your guide transfers you to your hotel and end of 4-Day Desert Tour from Rabat to Marrakech.

Frequently Asked Questions: 4-Day Desert Tour from Rabat to Marrakech
Contact & Booking:
How can i book the 4-Day Desert Tour from Rabat to Marrakech?
You can book the tour by contacting us. It is not possible to book directly for different reasons. First, we are specialized in private tours; therefore, we need to check if you would like to book the tour as it is or you have special requirements. Second, the price varies from one situation to another. Consequently, we need to give you the full details before you book. These are the main reasons why we like to contact us first.
Why there is no one price for the 4 Days Rabat to Marrakech Sahara desert tour?
There is no one price because the tour is not a shared tour. The price varies based on the number of travelers, the type of accommodations, the itinerary…etc. for example, the price of 4 people traveling together will be cheaper than the price of two people. The reason behind that is that the 4 people share the car, the driver, and the guides, so logically the price per person will be cheaper. In addition, the type of accommodation also influences the price. A traveler asking for 5-star hotels will pay more than someone asking for 3 stars… Normally, we calculate the costs of each service before we deliver our quotation.
