Day 1 : Marrakech → Atlas Mountains → Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou → Dades Valley (6 Hours Drive)
Your Sahara adventure begins at 8:00 AM with a private pickup from your Marrakech accommodation. We’ll leave the city’s vibrant energy behind as we journey south, climbing into the dramatic High Atlas Mountains. The Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m) treats you to ever-changing vistas – from red-earth villages clinging to hillsides to panoramic valleys dotted with almond trees. Stop to capture photos and breathe in the crisp mountain air while your experienced guide shares stories of Berber traditions.
The morning’s crown jewel is Ait Benhaddou, Morocco’s most famous UNESCO-listed ksar. Wander through this 17th-century fortress of earthen architecture, tracing the same paths where Hollywood legends were filmed (ask us about its roles in Gladiator and Game of Thrones!). After exploring the kasbah’s sun-baked alleys, we’ll enjoy lunch in Ouarzazate – nicknamed “Morocco’s Hollywood” for its nearby film studios.
The afternoon reveals more surprises as we detour through the Skoura Oasis, a lush paradise of date palms surrounding the beautifully preserved Kasbah Amridil. Here, you’ll witness traditional irrigation systems still in use after centuries.
As the sun begins to dip, we’ll wind through the surreal rock formations of Dades Valley – nicknamed “Monkey Fingers” for their whimsical shapes. Your evening ends at a charming local guesthouse where the scent of slow-cooked tagine welcomes you. Sip mint tea on the terrace as the valley turns golden, anticipating tomorrow’s journey deeper into the desert.
Day 2 : Boumalne Dades → Tinghir → Merzouga → Sahara Desert (4 Hours Drive)
Wake to the scent of fresh msemen (Moroccan pancakes) and steaming mint tea as we prepare for our journey into the Sahara. Today’s adventure unfolds like a storybook – each stop revealing a new chapter of Morocco’s natural wonders and desert culture.
Morning Magic: Todra Gorge & Tinghir Oasis
We’ll wind through Dades Valley’s “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs” before arriving at Tinghir Oasis. Walk among centuries-old irrigation channels where the “water shareholders” still distribute flows to family farms – a living testament to Berber engineering. Then, prepare for jaw-dropping views at Todra Gorge, where 300m-high cliffs glow amber in the morning light. Pro tip: This is Morocco’s best spot for impromptu rock-climbing photos!
Afternoon Adventures: Rissani’s Hidden Treasures
Lunch brings us to Rissani, the ancestral home of Morocco’s royal family. Wander through the chaotic date market (sample the prized “medjool” variety!) and visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif – its zellij tilework telling stories of the Alaouite dynasty. Keep an eye out for the distinctive blue doors marking sacred sites throughout town.
Sunset Spectacle: Merzouga & Erg Chebbi Dunes
As the light turns golden, we reach Merzouga – your portal to the Sahara Desert. Here, your camel awaits for that iconic sunset trek across Erg Chebbi’s dunes. The rhythmic swaying brings you to our luxury desert camp where:
- Ensuite tents blend comfort with authenticity
- A feast of Berber tagines cooks over open fires
- Local musicians transform the dunes into a starlit concert hall
Tonight, you’ll understand why nomads say the desert sky “rains stars” as the Milky Way puts on its nightly show.
Day 3: Merzouga → Draa Valley→ Ouarzazate → Marrakech (9 Hours Drive)
Your final day begins with a choice: sleep in or embrace the magic of a Sahara sunrise. For early risers, we recommend climbing the Erg Chebbi dunes as dawn breaks—watch in awe as the sea of golden sand shifts from rose-gold to blazing orange in minutes. It’s a moment of pure tranquility you’ll carry forever.
After a hearty Berber breakfast at camp, we begin our return to Marrakech, transforming the long drive into a scenic adventure through Morocco’s most diverse landscapes.
Morning: From Desert to Oasis
As we leave Merzouga, witness the Sahara’s last whispers give way to the Draa Valley’s emerald ribbon—a 200km stretch of date palms and ancient ksars. Stop in Agdez to walk among thousand-year-old irrigation systems still sustaining Berber villages today.
Afternoon: Movie Magic & Mountain Passes
The route climbs through the Anti-Atlas Mountains, where jagged peaks resemble a lunar landscape. In Ouarzazate, we’ll visit the famous Atlas Film Studios—where blockbusters like Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia came to life. Walk through replica sets from Egypt to medieval Europe, and learn how this “desert Hollywood” became a filmmaker’s paradise.
Evening: Return to Marrakech
As we cross the High Atlas via Tizi n’Tichka Pass one final time, take in the sunset over terracotta-hued valleys. By nightfall, you’ll be back in Marrakech—but now with the Sahara’s golden dust still on your shoes and stories that will outlast any souvenir.

Contact & Booking:
How can i book the 3 Days Marrakech To Merzouga Desert tour?
You can book the tour by contacting us. It is not possible to book directly for different reasons. First, we are specialized in private tours; therefore, we need to check if you would like to book the tour as it is or you have special requirements. Second, the price varies from one situation to another. Consequently, we need to give you the full details before you book. These are the main reasons why we like to contact us first.
Why there is no one price for the tour?
There is no one price because the tour is not a shared tour. The price varies based on the number of travelers, the type of accommodations, the itinerary…etc. for example, the price of 4 people traveling together will be cheaper than the price of two people. The reason behind that is that the 4 people share the car, the driver, and the guides, so logically the price per person will be cheaper. In addition, the type of accommodation influences also the price. A traveler asking for 5-star hotels will pay more than someone asking for 3 stars… Normally, we calculate the costs of each service before we deliver our quotation.
